Recently many of my readers in the UK will have suffered floods and gale force winds. These are two of my felts which reflect our weather.
Last week our 36 x 12 feet shed flew over the fence and landed on our poly tunnel in the vegetable patch. Unfortunately our pigs and sheep were in it at the time. None of them were hurt but I think they were all a little shocked!
This one which I called 'stormy seas' was inspired by the gale force winds we had the previous week. They coincided with high, spring tides and the sea in nearby Aberystwyth swept most of the historic promenade away. The beach I am depicting here is where I usually walk our dogs. It is called Llanrhystud beach. The sea washed away the flood defences and flooded the fields nearby.
I am hoping that our weather will improve soon and inspire some sunny and perhaps floral artwork!
Love both your beautiful pictures. Your poor pigs and sheep.Cheers Claire x
ReplyDeleteThank you. The creatures have recovered now and are settled in their new shed which we constructed from the remains of the original one. Actually I think they had a good couple of days until we fixed the fences. They had free range of the vege patch!
DeleteThese two felts are a lovely tribute to the challenges that the citizens along the coast have been facing. Very thoughtful of you.
